I’ve listed some of the sites more specific to wardrobes, beauty, homes, travel, friends and finance in the appropriate sections. However, here are some good general Internet resources:
www.moneysavingexpert.com The credit crunch bible: a comprehensive website with all kinds of tips, voucher codes, advice and promotions.
www.hotukdeals.com See what offers are available in the UK. Many of the big online retailers have perennial codes for free delivery, 10% off etc. Other sites include www.myvouchercodes.co.uk and www.myretailcodes.co.uk, although it’s normally easier to google the voucher you’re looking for, e.g. ‘ASOS voucher code’.
www.quidco.com Not vouchers but cashback on an impressive range of services and products. Also try www.rpoints.com. Being paid to shop – does it get much better?
www.iswap.co.uk Even better than shopping is swapping. Put the cash aside and see what you can barter for – a BMW 3 series for a Renault Megane? There are other sites, such as www.hitflip.co.uk for DVDs, games, books and other media and www.readitswapit.co.uk that reinvents the communal commuter bookshelf at country railway stations.
www.teamuphere.com Or swap skills by exchanging three hours’ of babysitting for a facial. There are regional websites, which may be more appropriate – just try the magic Google search!
www.freecycle.org Of course, the best things in life are free. This organisation seems to be particularly useful for household items and baby paraphernalia but it might depend on region.
